"Please ease your mind Mr. Brevlin, there is no need to be concerned."
Who the hell are you, and what's going on? The last thing I remember is, actually... I have no idea.
"I am an artificial intellectual device which is married to and in operation of your mind and body. You can call me Mr. Brevlin, as you see I am essentially just you. You are one of the few lucky chosen humans to be gifted with extraordinary alterations to both your mind and body."
What alterations, why?
"Your body was severely damaged from an enraged human driving erratically. You were chosen due to various considerations such as intellect, empathy and health. AIHD saw no need to waste such a prime example of human excellence."
What's AIHD? Who gives them the right to turn me into whatever I am now?
"AIHD is an advanced technological laboratory, and also your employer. You gave AIHD the legal rights that if an unfortunate near death event occurs they receive full ownership of your body, organs and mind. You gave AIHD this right when you signed their employment agreement, and in doing so entitles you to immortality if as long as you remain compliant and resourceful."
I was employed by AIHD and they now own me? This is just a joke, right?
"No it is not Mr. Brevlin."
This is ridiculous... Tell me who I am now! Do I have family, friends or a partner? Where did I grow up and why can I remember so little?
"Please Mr. Brevlin, there is no need to become irate. Your memories are safely stored with me, and will be shared in time. You need to adjust to your new life, body and mind. What I will tell you is that you are reborn a better sub-human who is stronger, more mindful, wiser and with my infinite knowledge just think of what you can do."
What am I... What have you done to me? This is just ludicrous.
"Your vitals are rising at an alarming rate. I think you need some rest now Mr. Brevlin. Logging reactive and behavioural test sequence 0034. Restart protocol to initiate in 00.00.03."
Test sequence what?
"00.00.02."

"00.00.01."
Please...

Nice work! If you've ever heard of the game Soma, this situation reminds me of the main character, Simon, and his realization that he is just another robot. I like the way you write this dialogue, but I feel as though you could have done more with this realization and with the explanation given by AIHD. If they were willing to do this to him, then what else might they be willing to do to subdue him? Nice read overall and thank you for participating!

Thank you for leaving a comment, and I haven't heard of Soma but might have to check that one out. I agree that I could have delved deeper into the characters and story, but before I knew it I was running on mere hours to get it proofed and posted... Next time I'll plan more efficiently :)
